Abstract |
Aquatic leeches are important as parasites and predators of many groups of animals. Eleven species are reported living in North American snails and clams, 7 of which are known to behave as parasites, 2 are assumed to be parasitic, and the other 2 are not parasitic. In this paper these leeches are listed, a key is provided to the species, their known molluscan hosts are indicated, and aspects of their taxonomy are dicussed. |
