Abstract |
The report is concerned with the 317 mile reach of the Ohio River from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the West Virginia-Kentucky boundary. The purpose of this document is to provide answers to four questions: (1) What is the current water quality situation; (2) why does the situation exist; (3) what has been the trend in recent years; (4) what will the water quality be in years to come. In reviewing the Ohio River main stem in 1973, identification is made of (a) significant river reaches that already meet the 1983 goal of water quality adequate for swimming and for the protection and propagation of fish and wildlife. |
