Abstract | The purpose of the investigation is to document improvements in design, operation, and maintenance of multiple-hearth and fluid bed furnace incineration for combustion of sludge in municipal wastewater treatment plants. The information contained in the report is intended to supplement and qualify information available from incinerator manufacturers and published literature. The report addresses incinerator and support systems design deficiencies and solutions, operation and maintenance problems and solutions, fuel efficient operation, upgrading of existing incinerators, administration and personnel training. |
