Abstract | Surveillance data from seven stations along the Missouri River show pollutional effects of tributaries, impoundments, and waste discharges. The waters are suitable, with treatment, for municipal and industrial uses. Recreational values are limited in the lower reach because of bacteriological pollution from municipal and industrial wastes. Trends found were toward poorer quality; scheduled construction of waste treatment plants should help toward some reversals of the trend. |
