Abstract | The objective of this study was to demonstrate the effectiveness of surface mined land reclamation measures in establishing surface water infiltratin control to prevent or reduce pollution from acid mine drainage. The Dents Run watershed, located in Monongalia County, West Virginia, was the site selected for the study. The project was initiated with a comprehensive field investigation of the watershed to locate and characterize each mine site and underground mine opening. |
