Abstract |
On December 3, 1957, a Conference on the Matter of Pollution of the Missouri River and Tributary Streams, held in Kansas City, MO, was called by the Surgeon General of the United States. It was found that the principal sources of pollution in the Kansas Cities metropolitan area were untreated and inadequately treated sewage and industrial wastes from Kansas City, KA; Kansas City, MO; North Kansas City, MO; and local industrial establishments. The report documents the steps that have been taken toward fulfillment of the 1957 Conference recommendations, the recommendations of the 1960 Hearing Board, and the requirements of City Ordinance No. 42913, and provides information to support the current litigation against the City of Kansas City, KA. |
