Abstract |
In order to reduce the risk of municipal sludge to acceptable levels, the U.S. EPA has undertaken a regulatory program based on risk assessment and risk management. The key to such a program is the development of a methodology which allows the regulatory agency to quantify the relative risks arising from a given reuse/disposal option. The paper briefly describes the development of risk assessment methodology for future development of pathogen criteria for land application and distribution and marketing of municipal sludge. |
