Abstract
The test material was evaluated for its ability to induce unscheduled DNA synthesis in human WI-38 cells blocked in G1 phase. The results area presented in Tables 1 and 2. The test substance was prepared as a stock solution in DMSO. The stock solution was diluted in culture medium to derive the final test concentrations. The range of concentrations employed in this assay were from 0.01 mg/ml to 0.5 mg/ml. The only evidence of toxicity was observed at the highest dose level of 0.5 mg/ml. The evidence of toxicity was derived from the reduction in counts (CPM) below the control. The results of the test are shown in Tables 1 and 2. They are presented in tabular and graphic forms. The data from this assay showed significant increases in UDS both with and without a microsome S9 preparation. The activation test conditions provided the greatest increases over control.
