Abstract The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (referred to as the 'Agency' or 'EPA') has completed its reregistration assessment of the available information on the pesticide active ingredient thymol. It has been determined that the currently registered uses will not cause unreasonable risk to humans or the environment and the products registered for these uses are eligible for reregistration. Thymol is a constituent of oil of thyme, a naturally occurring mixture of compounds in the plant Thymus vulgaris L., or thyme. Thymol, as used in pesticide products, may be applied as an animal repellant, a fungicide/fungistat, a medical disinfectant, a tuberculocide, or a virucide. The use sites include indoor residential, outdoor residential, indoor non-food, indoor medical, and terrestrial non-food/outdoor residential.
