Abstract |
The report summarizes the findings of an evaluation of the Rochem Separation Systems, Inc. (Rochem) Disc Tube (TM) Module (DTM) technology. This technology is a membrane separation process for treatment of landfill leachate and other liquid wastes. To evaluate performance features, the following critical objectives were developed for the SITE Demonstration: (1) determine if the technology could met the developer's claims for contaminant rejection of greater than 90% for volatile organic compounds (VOCs), greater than 92% for TOC, and greater than 99% for TDS and metals; (2) determine if the technology could achieve and maintain a systems treated water recovery rate of 75% or greater; and (3) evaluate the DTM technology's resistance to membrane fouling and scaling by determining the change in flux as a result of liquid waste (leachate) treatment over the course of the Demonstration. |
