Abstract |
Those benefits ascribable to proposed works for controlling natural salt brine emissions are determined. The impact of stream quality improvements on municipal, industrial, and agricultural water uses in the Arkansas and Red Rivers drainage basins is considered. Results of the study indicate that the improvement and preservation of water quality in the basins is essential to full utilization of the study area's surface water supply, which is expected to serve 22.4 million people by the year 2020. Water quality improvements attributable to the proposed control works will produce benefits to municipal and industrial uses in 13 subareas. |
