Abstract |
Sedimentation involves three basic processes--erosion, transportation and deposition. Costs of correcting erosion and sediment deposition problems resulting from highway construction and land development activities often are unjustifiably transferred to the taxpayer. They result when consequences of the construction operations on downstream areas are not properly considered. The report discusses deposition and control methods. |
