Abstract |
The document presents information on emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOC) from a can coating plant in Shelby County, Tennessee. This can coating facility is reported to emit less than 25 tons per year of VOC. The following chapters of the report briefly discuss emission sources, emission controls and costs, and operation of the can manufacturing facility. The control measures described in the document represent the presumptive norm or RACT that can be applied to existing can coating facilities. RACT is defined as the lowest emission limit that a particular source is capable of achieving by application of control technology that is reasonably available considering technological and economic feasibility. The measures considered are: (1) use of high solids or waterborne sealants and (2) control equipment, such as carbon adsorbers or incinerators. |
