Abstract | This report provides information on the Rochem DTM technology, an innovative membrane separation process for removal of contaminants from liquid hazardous waste streams. The Rochem DTM technology was evaluated under the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) SITE Program during August and September 1994 at the Central Landfill Superfund Site in Johnston, Rhode Island. Leachate from this hot spot was pumped from an existing well for treatment by a Rochem Model 9122 DTM system operating at a feed flow rate of about 4 gallons per minute. Approximately 33,000 gallons of leachate were treated during the Demonstration at the Central Landfill. The leachate contained VOCs, metals, and high dissolved solids. |
