Abstract |
The distribution and method of movement of a hydrophobic pesticide through anaerobic saline marsh soils profiles was investigated. In the study are the flooding tidal water containing low concentrations of toxaphene. The compound accumulated only slightly in the marsh soils not flooded daily by the tides. Pesticide concentrations in the marsh soils generally decreased with depth. Highest pesticide concentrations were associated with the dead roots. |
