Abstract |
The objective of this project is to provide a means of abating the combined sewer overflows (CSO's) in the City of Spokane. At present, the interceptor system in the city is unable to transport all of the sewage and stormwaters to the sewage treatment plant. The system overflows the excess into the Spokane River at over 30 points in the city. The issues in this project involve the effects CSO's have on nutrient loading, bacterial contamination and aesthetic impairment of the Spokane River. Construction related impacts are also a concern in this project. |
