Abstract | The Bondi Island Wastewater Treatment Plant, serving the City of Springfield, Massachusetts and surrounding communities, has a long history of odor problems. The City is currently implementing a phased approach to odor control through operational and design modifications, and by covering of tanks and treating the odorous air. At the request of the City, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) offered technical assistance to help resolve the odor problems. On April 23, 1990, a preliminary site visit of the facilities was conducted. |
