Abstract |
Under the 1987 Chesapeake Bay Agreement, commercially, recreationally, and ecologically valuable finfish and shellfish species were selected for the development of baywide fishery management plans (FMPs). The following report is a review of the Alosid, Blue Crab, Bluefish, and Weakfish/Spotted Seatrout FMPs. The Alosid (American shad, Alosa sapidissima; hickory shad, Alosa mediocris; blueback herring, Alosa aestivalis; and alewife herring, Alosa pseudoharengus) and Blue Crab (Callinectes sapidus) Management Plans were adopted in July 1989 and reviewed in December 1990. The Bluefish (Pomatomus saltatrix) Management Plan and the Weakfish (Cynoscion regalis) and Spotted Seatrout (Cynoscion nebulosus) Management Plan were adopted in December 1990. |
