Abstract | The information now available to Nalco which prompts this letter is that preliminary results from a toxicological study on 2-hydroxyethylacrylate sponsored by Nalco indicate this chemical has neurotoxic properties. The toxicology study is being conducted by Bio-Research Laboratories, Montreal, Canada. Preliminary findings were made available to Nalco during a visit to these laboratories on July 24, 1980. The nature of the information is in the form of preliminary histopathological reading of tissues from rats subject to a 13-week intraperitoneal dosing which demonstrates peripheral nerve damage. The results reported here are preliminary and have not been subjected to quality assurance procedures nor final review. |
