Abstract |
The report describes a feasibility study on reducing the pollution characteristics of spent sulfite liquor (SSL) by using the SSL as a substrate for the growth of the bacteria, Desulforibrio. Total sulfur content and COD of the SSL were used to measure the pollution characteristics of the SSL. Tests were run on the removal of particulate matter from the digested waste material. Test results are given. |
