Abstract | EPA's 2008 Report on the Environment (ROE) compiles the most reliable indicators currently available to answer 23 questions of importance to the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's) mission and the nation's environment. The questions are divided into five topics: air, water, land, human health, and ecological condition. The report includes 85 indicators--numerical values derived from actual measurements of a state or ambient condition, exposure, or human health or ecological condition over a specified geographic area, whose trends over time represent or draw attention to underlying trends in the condition of the environment. |
