Abstract |
Fort Ord is located near Monterey Bay in northwestern Monterey County, California, approximately 80 miles south of San Francisco. The selected remedial alternative described in this Interim ROD addresses current or potential significant risks to human health posed by Site 3 at Fort Ord, California. The selected remedy will involve: excavation and separation (screening) of spent ammunition from soil in areas of greater than 10 percent surface coverage of spent ammunition; recycling of spent ammunition at a metals refinery, and placement of lead-containing soil at the OU 2 landfill. |
