Abstract | The report presents an analysis of the airborne salt concentration data collected during the demonstration of the salt water mechanical cooling devices at the Turkey Point power plant. The data were analyzed using the ADAPT family of empirical analysis programs which are based on the concept that empirical analysis should be preceded by the development of an optimal (in the Karhunen-Loeve sense) representation of the data. The analysis presented in the report shows that the increase in the background salt concentration due to the cooling tower was less than the measurement accuracy of approximately three to five micrograms per cubic meter. |
