Abstract |
We investigated the response of benthic stream invertebrate assemblages to measures of acidification to provide integrated measures of biological condition with respect to cumulative impacts of electric power generation and other sources of atmospherically-derived acidity in Maryland streams. Invertebrate assemblages were sampled in streams of the Coastal Plain that represent a wide range of acidification potential from poorly-buffered to well buffered, as well as a wide range of agricultural land use. |
