| Abstract |
This Bulletin was written to provide guidance for the design and operation of sewage sludge composting facilities. It also will serve as an aid in their effective establishment and will help alleviate problems that may arise during everyday normal operation. The guidance consists primarily of recommended operational procedures and performance levels related to the composting facilities. The performance levels, recommended within this Bulletin, are flexible to make allowances for innovation in composting system designs. The recommendations will also assure that adequate sludge stabilization and disinfection (pathogen reduction) are achieved. |
