Abstract |
The publication explains the phenomenon of nitrification and denitrification in wastewater treatment. Studies on the significance of nitrogenous oxidation (NOD) in creating oxygen sag in receiving streams and other studies showing the role of ammonia and nitrogen compounds in stimulating algal bloom have demonstrated the need for information on how wastewater treatment plants can be designed to accomplish nitrification and denitrification. |
