Abstract
Polyhedral occlusion bodies of the nuclear polyhedrosis virus of Spodoptera exigua (SeNPV) is an insecticidal viral based product approved as an end-use product for the control of the beet armyworm on tomatoes, lettuce, cabbage, beans, peppers, celery, escarole, sweet corn, peas, asparagus, beets, cauliflower, cucumber, broccoli, onion, cottom, alfalfa, soybeans, peanuts, corn, wheat, sweet potatoes, tobacco, sunflower, sugar beets and floriculture crops such as gysophila, gerbera, chrysanthemum, rose, carnation, azalea, gladiolus, cyclamen, saintpaulia, geranium, and bouvardia. SPOD-X may be applied by using conventional ground or aerial equipment. Applications should be made when larvae are in the first and second instar. Larvae must ingest occlusion bodies to be infected, which is the case when they consumer the sprayed material.
