Abstract |
Recent data acquisition, analysis, and mathematical modelling studies were undertaken to improve the understanding of water quality interactions, particularly as they impact DO, in the Delaware Estuary. The major processes treated in this study were the advection and dispersion of salinity and dye tracers, nitrification, carbonaceous oxidation, sediment oxygen demand, reaeration, algal photosynthesis and respiration, and denitrification. The major product of this study is a calibrated and verified 'real time' hydraulic and water quality model of the Delaware Estuary between Trenton and Liston Point. |
