Abstract
The impact of the development of the Arkansas Waterway upon land tenure and land value was studied using a simple economic response model. It is essentially an extension of the microeconomic behavior of economic agents in space. Although some of the model's assumptions are unrealistic, an attempt is made to abstract from the key features of the real world patterns associated with the particular waterway development under study. Thus it is possible to assess alternative strategies for empirical tests of the model's hypotheses. (WRSIC abstract)
