A discussion of malaria and encephalitis control in relation to the construction of a dam across the Missouri River, to form the Gavins Point Reservoir, is presented. The area's physical characteristics, population and development are described. Incidence of malaria and encephalitis, hazards, and recommendations for control are discussed.
