Abstract
The Drinking Water Infrastructure Needs Survey identifies current and future needs for the 20-year period from January 1995 through December 2014. Drinking water capital infrastructure needs are grouped into four general categories: source, treatment, storage, and transmission and distribution. This report describes the general approach for constructing cost models, the source of cost information, methodology for developing and applying cost curves, as well as how this methodology was applied in modeling source, treatment, storage, transmission and distribution, and other needs. An appendix, organized by category of need, contains the cost models that are discussed in the body of the report.
