Abstract | The Little Rock, AK, WQM Plan identified urban runoff into Fourche Creek as the most significant nonpoint source water quality problem in the metropolitan area. Project objectives include: (1) clarifying the nature and extent of the problem; (2) analysis of the effectiveness of selected best management practices; (3) assessing cost effectiveness of BMP's; and (4) effects of application of BMP's throughout the Fourche Creek System. BMP's evaluated included gabions, channel clearing with bank relocation and rip rap, and vegetation, and use of sodding with check dams to reduce slopes. |
