Abstract |
Despite formidable sources of uncertainty, risk assessments are needed to avoid the extremes of either banning or allowing all exposures to potentially harmful chemicals. The paper addresses methods for reducing uncertainty in relationships between human exposures and disease, particularly cancer. Attention will focus on possible improvements in the use of animal experiments to predict human cancer risks. |
