Abstract | During the period of ice cover 1972-1973 the grayling thermal tolerance experiments in interior Alaska were interrupted by the unavailability of these fish. In collaboration with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game it was decided to use the experimental set-up to attempt to rear Inconnu (Stenodus leucichthys) in controlled conditions. Two temperatures (5C and 8C) and four feeds (freeze dried Daphnia, freeze dried brine shrimp nauplii, Oregon mash, and cultured algae, mainly Selenastrum sp.) were used as treatments. No significant difference was found between treatments due to heavy mortality. |
