A toxic chemical study on the Texas/Mexico reach of the Rio Grande during 1992-93 involved sampling at 19 mainstem sites and 26 tributaries. Field surveillance was conducted during low flow. The evaluation included determinations of toxicity testing of water and sediment; and bioassessments of fish communities and benthic macroinvertebrate communities.
