Abstract | The paper briefly describes the purpose, history, and major features of ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-conditioning Engineers) Standard 62. The primary focus of the paper is on the status of the review and revision process as of January 1993. The current working outline of the revised standard is presented and discussed. The complementary roles of ventilation, source management, and air cleaning are emphasized. Extending the standard beyond ventilation system design to include operation and maintenance of buildings and ventilation systems is also projected. |
