This report presents data and relationships observed in a study of the waters of north San Francisco Bay, San Pablo Bay, Suisun Bay and the western extreme of the Sacramento - San Joaquin Delta, California. Samples were collected on eight morning cruises from May to September 1964 on a high slack tide. Biological and nutrient analysis of the samples include phytoplankton productivity using C-14, algal identification and population counts, the nitrogen series, dissolved and total phosphorus. Other determinations include temperature, pH, alkalinity, suspended solids, chlorosity, and dissolved silica. Phytoplankton productivity and nutrient dynamics through the study period and the study area are characterized. |
