Abstract |
The present study defines the mechanism of glucose transport in the isolated gill of oysters, using the European flat oyster, Ostrea edulis, as a representative species. The specific objectives were: (1) identify a non-metabolized transport analog, (2) determine the effects of known metabolic inhibitors and naphthalene on transport, and (3) determine the effect of inhibitors on leakage. |
