Abstract |
A Cummins NTC-350 heavy-duty diesel engine was modified by the addition on a programmable EGR system. Tests were conducted using a computer to control the rate of EGR based on the instantaneous speed and torque conditions of the engine during operation over the EPA transient cycle. The extent of NOx reduction achievable with this system, along with corresponding effects on other emissions and fuel consumption, was explored. |
