Abstract |
Production of nitrogen-containing chemicals forms an important segment of the chemical industry. Most of these chemicals are used for fertilizers but a significant proportion have different end-uses, for example, as intermediates in chemical processing sequences. The paper briefly examines the extent of water pollution from these two branches of the nitrogen industry. Also, means for removing nitrogen compounds which enter wastewater are reviewed. (Author) |
