Abstract The EPA has responsibility for assessment and cleanup of superfund sites. Because air emissions pose a potential human health risk at these sites, the EPA has developed a set of procedures for evaluating these risks. The four checklists presented provide a systematic approach for air reviewers to apply the air pathway assessment procedures. The background, purpose, and application of the checklists are discussed.
