Abstract |
The ROD identified consolidation of cathode wastes from the facility into a landfill and on-Site treatment for cyanide and fluoride of the leachate generated from the landfill. However, since the signing of the ROD, the leachate flow rate has not decreased significantly, potentially due to leakage of perched water into the landfill through bedrock fractures beneath the landfill. The significant circumstances that warrant the need for this ESD are largely a result of several changes that occurred during the construction phase of the remedial action. |
