| Abstract |
The report pertains to 1-isocyanato-2-methoxybenzene (synonym: o-methoxyphenyl isocyanate) (CAS No. 700-87-8) and is being submitted because of lethality observed in an acute inhalation toxicity test in rats. The 6-hour LCs is less than 1.38 mg/L. The test material is a severe eye irritant. Testicular atrophy with localized tubular atrophy, necrosis, and mineralization was observed in a rat following a single oral dose of 1,600 mg/kg. The significance of these lesions is unclear. The report is being identified as a study involving other than human effects (Unit II.B.2.b ofCAP Agreement). |
