Abstract |
The report discusses (1) the somatic-mutation theory of cancer, (2) the mutagenicity of carcinogenic compounds and (3) the quantitative correlation between mutagenicity and carcinogenicity. The Committee on Chemical Environmental Mutagens concluded that further research and analysis of data are necessary as a basis for determining whether short-term mutagenicity tests possibly can be used for quantitative prediction of human carcinogenicity. |
