Abstract |
Approximately one hundred twenty water treatment plants in the United States and Canada now use chlorine dioxide, usually in combination with chlorine, for sterilization purposes. Current methods for the determination of chlorine dioxide either do not make a distinction between this compound and other forms of chlorine or are not sufficiently sensitive at low concentrations. The report describes a technique using 1-amino-8-naphthol-3,6 disulfonic acid to colorimetrically measure ClO2. |
