Abstract |
One of the growing public health problems today is achieving satisfactory water supply and sewerage services in urban areas and in urban-like developments in nonurban areas. Widespread and uncontrolled use of individual wells and septic tanks in and near urban areas can endanger the public health because of associated hazardous chemical and bacteriological contamination. A report is made on recommendations for legislation endowing state and local agencies with regulatory authority over individual wells and septic tank installations. |
