Abstract The second report considers the experimental results obtained and the relationship of these results to various mathematical model approaches to the hydraulic study of Lake Erie. Based on the experimental and analytical results of this study, the following summarizing statements are made regarding the dynamic behavior of Lake Erie. In the absence of wind, the throughflow caused by the inflow of the Detroit River and the outflow of the Niagara River generates significant currents and easily observable patterns of circulation. The presence of westerly wind significantly alters the circulation pattern of Lake Erie as observed in the absence of wind. A procedure for relating model wind speeds to prototype wind speeds based on similarity between wind set-up in model and prototype has been presented. (WRSIC abstract)
