Abstract |
The report describes foreign practices in hazardous waste minimization. It provides an overview and six field studies that cover Japan, Canada, the Netherlands, the Federal Republic of Germany, Denmark, and Sweden. The field studies are drawn from literature collected and interviews conducted during field trips to each of the countries. The study found that policy options fall into seven categories: tax incentives, economic incentives, technical assistance, research and development assistance, plans and permits, waste exchanges, and public information. The field studies and overview give examples of these policy options from the various countries. |
