| Abstract |
Federal Plan No. 1 for Fiscal Years 1979-1983 is set forth in this report. The broad range of subject matter addressed by almost a thousand projects comprising the current $165 million Federal ocean pollution research, development, and monitoring efforts is described. A comprehensive statement of national needs and problems based on public and private sector input is presented. A general overview of ocean pollution problems in the waters of the U.S. is provided and the adequacy of the current Federal response to these problems is analyzed by problem area. Initial priorities are assigned to the research and development, and monitoring needs as identified. |
