Collation 1 CD-ROM
Abstract This CD-ROM product contains the series of harmonized test guidelines that have been developed by the Office of Prevention, Pesticides and Toxic Substances (OPPTS), U.S. EPA for use in the testing of pesticides and toxic substances, and the development of test data that must be submitted to the EPA for review under the Toxic Substances Control Act (15 U.S.C. 2601) and the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (7 U.S.C. 136, et seq.) The purpose of harmonizing these guidelines into a single set of OPPTS guidelines is to minimize variations among test procedures that must be performed to meet the EPA data requirements. Save time spent searching through numerous hard copy specifications by using the Adobe Acrobat with Search software which provides an intuitive interface for search, display and printing. With Acrobat, you can (1) search words or full text phrases to locate testing standards, data reporting guidance, definition of terms and acceptance protocols, (2) search for specific guideline numbers or CFR citations, (3) browse the Table of Contents much like a book and electronically connect via hypertext links to guidelines of interest, (4) cut and paste a page or print the entire guideline. Also included on the CD-ROM is a bibliography of Pesticide Assessment Guidelines and their amendments available through NTIS. Large chemical manufacturers who make pesticides, corporate regulatory professionals, quality assurance personnel, project managers, study directors, and technical staff responsible for laboratory and field studies will find this CD-ROM invaluable. The CD-ROM contains issued OPPTS test guidelines and any subsequent updates. It is periodically updated after major EPA additions or updates are issued. The OPPTS has developed these guidelines through a process of harmonization that blend the testing guidance and requirements that existed in the Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics (OPPT) and appeared in Title 40, Chapter I, Subchapter R of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), the Office of Pesticide Programs (OPP) which appeared in publications of the NTIS and the guidelines published by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
